PrintWeek features Propack London Office…one year on!

A year ago Propack took the bold step of establishing a presence in the capital to better serve our growing London client list. PrintWeek’s article reflects on the decision with its challenges and successes.

2019, and Propack began the new year on a high after signing for office space in central London. Following on from our successful 22-year history in Huddersfield, Propack decided to expand outside of the West Yorkshire region furthering ambitious growth plans.

The expansion followed on the back of a raft of new London-based client wins and a general upturn in the Direct Mail industry. The Propack team was developing strong working relationships with many major UK Charities including; Parkinson’s UK, Sue Ryder, VSO, Centrepoint, Farm Africa and Plan International UK and we recognised the need to have a London base to make ourselves accessible for those clients to meet, network and discuss business face to face. Gary Walker, Account Director, summed up the feeling:

“We’ve recruited a lot of clients in the London area in a short space of time. We wanted to satisfy the new market share that we had taken on there to show that we have a presence – that we are accessible in the city and can offer the right service and support.”

A lot of research went into selecting the right premises in the ideal location, bearing in mind travel, the scale of use and level of office management we would need, as well as the practical considerations of communications. We had to work out what our requirements might be and develop a clear plan for the logistics of setting up a new workspace. We canvassed a wide range of office space providers to compare the range of offerings and how our budget might accommodate them.

One year down the line though, it is clear that the hard work we put in is paying off. We have staff in London most weeks and the sales traction afforded by the London space has played a significant part in Propack’s overall growth during 2019. Discussing it all with a journalist gave us a great opportunity to reflect back on our decision to establish the ofiice in Bloomsbury, and to look at the challenges and successes of the process.
