Propack designed a unique direct mail piece for Travis Perkins, encouraging app downloads with a creative, phone-themed format.

The personalised mailer stood out from previous formats, contributing to 60% of the overall app download target.

The campaign was scalable, with 200,000 pieces produced quickly using Propack’s in-house printing, die-cutting, and folding capabilities.

Background

Our long-standing customer, Travis Perkins, needed a way to encourage their customers to download their newly developed app. They invited us to be part of the planning process, knowing our expertise in targeted Direct Mail could help them stand out.

Objective

The objective was simple: create a Direct Mail piece that felt fresh and different from the usual formats used by Travis Perkins. The goal was to make it scalable for the expected production volumes of around 200,000 pieces while focusing on driving app downloads.

Overview

We designed a 6pp A5 mailer with double-thickness panels to create a reveal effect that highlighted a phone screen. The idea was to build the content around the app and phone theme to reinforce the message.

Maximising our in-house facilities, we were able to handle the die-cutting, folding, gluing, and printing all at once, enabling us to quickly produce large volumes. We also used our digital print capabilities to personalise the message on the phone image, including the recipient’s name, account number, and credit limit.

The result? This unique mail piece played a huge role in the campaign’s success, contributing to 60% of the overall app download target.
