Your Co-op Travel’s magazine focused on eco-friendly travel and introduced partners working on carbon reduction.

Propack reviewed and recommended sustainable printing and mailing processes to align with environmental goals.

Sustainable practices, including FSC-certified paper and vegetable-based inks, were used in the final production.

Background

The autumn edition of Your Co-op Travel members’ magazine had a special focus on sustainability. It introduced readers to a range of carbon reduction initiatives and charity partners, as well as showcasing inspiring ways to make travel more eco-friendly.

The objective

At Propack, we’re committed to being one of the UK’s most environmentally responsible marketing and print providers. Partnering with Your Co-op Travel’s agency, Red C, we were brought on board to review their print and mailing processes and suggest the most sustainable practices available.

What we did

Following a thorough review, Propack was commissioned to handle the printing and mailing of the magazine, implementing the sustainability recommendations we’d made.

Having held Forestry Stewardship Council (FSC) Chain of Custody Certification for years, we ensured all print materials were produced on FSC-certified stock, a global standard for responsible forest management. To further reduce the environmental impact, we also worked with a supply chain partner certified by the World Land Trust. Their Carbon Balanced Paper scheme helped offset the carbon footprint of the paper used.

We took additional steps by using vegetable-based inks and water-based UV coatings, avoiding the need for plastic laminates, to ensure the entire process aligned with sustainable values.
