The challenge
Christians Against Poverty (CAP) is a registered charity dedicated to fighting poverty and providing practical and emotional support to those struggling with financial hardship and debt. With a network of around 700 remotely based coaches and over 4,000 participants in the CAP Money Course, CAP offers face-to-face appointments and community groups in venues like churches and community centres to help people overcome their challenges.
These coaches rely on a range of materials, including posters, workbooks, and information guides, to effectively communicate CAP’s key messages. However, before our involvement, they could only order a limited selection of materials, with no option for personalisation. This lack of personalisation meant more involvement from head office to handle bespoke print requests. As a result, many coaches created their own resources, leading to inconsistencies in branding, including colours, logos, and fonts.
The objective
CAP sought a supplier who could resolve these issues and ensure a consistent, clear, and accurate representation of their brand, while also being flexible enough to support their wide and varied network of coaches. After a competitive pitch process, Propack was chosen to develop and deploy a solution that incorporated a print-on-demand storefront with real-time personalisation and proofing capabilities. This system allows users to order a wide range of printed items, from posters to banners, and personalise them with details like names, locations, and event times.
In addition to the print-on-demand service, we also provide a storage solution, holding stock in our warehouse. This means that every aspect of the project is managed under one roof, allowing users to place an order one day and receive it the next. The entire process—from order placement to personalised collateral creation to fulfilment—is automated. Users can only access the products relevant to their roles, and each user is assigned an annual budget by CAP, all managed within the Propack storefront.
What we did
We have successfully delivered a solution for CAP that has seen over 4,500 users onboarded. Further enhancements, such as single sign-on (SSL), have made it even easier for CAP users to access the system with their existing login details, while CAP retains full control over user access.
CAP now benefits from a solution that delivers several thousand collateral orders per year, all on time, on brand, and within budget.
CAP noted that having previously worked with us on their fundraising direct mail, print, and postage, they were confident in our ability to improve the situation with their field user requirements. The result has exceeded expectations, allowing CAP to manage and assign budgets efficiently within the Propack storefront, catering to the diverse needs of all users.
"We’d had a previous relationship with Propack who supply our fundraising direct mail, print and postage. We knew we needed to improve the situation with our field user requirements and had set out a wish list – it has been fantastic that Propack have been able to achieve our requirements and so much more.
All our users have differing requirements, and so being able to assign and manage budgets for each user in the Propack storefront is a huge benefit to us."
